Griffiths memulai karirnya di Livingston di mana dia memulai debutnya saat berusia enam belas tahun. Dia kemudian pindah ke Dundee pada tahun 2009 seharga £ 125.000. Selama lima tahun di Divisi Pertama Skotlandia, ia mendapatkan enam penghargaan pemain muda bulan ini. Dengan Dundee dalam masalah keuangan, Griffiths pindah ke Wolves dengan harga sekitar £ 150.000 pada Januari 2011.
